Heavy snow for the Alpine Region
Friday
Strong low pressure areas will make it very windy and cold across Scandinavia and the eastern part of Europe as northerly gales set in. Gusts up to 80 mph are likely across Norway, The Low Countries, Holland and northern parts of Germany with a gust mistral over southern France. An area of heavy rain is expected from Finland into The Baltic States, Poland into northern Germany with heavy, blustery showers of thunder and hail across Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark and Holland.
There is a risk of heavy snow across the Alpine Region and southern Germany today along with the Czech Republic which may be drifting in the strong winds. A largely dry and less windy toady for the United Kingdom and France with sunnier spells. Cloudy to across Italy with some rain though turning dry and brighter in the far south. Heavy spells of rain will affect the former Yugoslavia, Romania and Bulgaria today and this moves into Greece later. Fine and dry weather is expected for Spain, the Balearics and Turkey with sunny skies.

Rather windy with some light rain or showers across England and eastern parts of France today. Western France looks fair and dry. Heavy snow is likely across Switzerland, Austria, southern parts of Germany and the Czech Republic. Snow showers will fall across Poland, The Baltic States and Norway mixed with sunny spells while Rain, sleet and snow affect Finland.
An area of heavy rain will lie across Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey with winds at gale force. The fine, sunny weather will prevail across Portugal and Spain today and here it will be the warmest place to be. Chilly but fine and sunny across Italy and Greece.
