Warmest and sunniest across Iberia
Today
Today an area of high pressure across the United Kingdom will give England, the north of France and The Low Countries a dry, bright day. The north of Germany too looks drier with some sunshine coming through. The wintry weather is expected to persist across southern Germany, The Alpine Region, the former Czech Republic and Romania with more snow on the way. Gales are also likely to persist. An area of rain is expected across Greece with showers across Italy. Heavy showers are likely for Corsica and Sardinia today.
Western parts of France along with Iberia will enjoy the best of the weather with a dry, sunny day to come. Cold for Scandinavia and mainly dry though rain will push into the far west of Norway in the afternoon after a frosty morning. There is a risk of heavy snow for the south of Poland and across The Ukraine today while Belarus and the Baltic States are cold and sunny. Showers will move into the far west of Turkey, otherwise expect sunny spells and a lot of dry weather.
Friday
A large area of fine, dry, sunny weather will prevail from Iberia up into France and the United Kingdom. England and France will be rather cold with morning dense fog and frost otherwise sunny.
With deep low pressure west of Italy, an arc of heavy rain and showers in the central Mediterranean, accompanied by gales over southern France and the Alpine Region, will sweep east into Italy and Greece with a risk of snow for the former Yugoslavia. There will also be some residual snow across the far south of Germany, Poland and across Switzerland, Austria and the former Czech Republic today. Here it stays bitterly cold too. Generally cloudy for the Low Countries with some patchy rain and across the north of Germany patchy rain may be freezing in places. A front will temporarily bring rain and milder weather to Scandinavia through the day.
Very cold but dry and sunny across Belarus, Russia and the Ukraine. Heavy showers again will affect Bulgaria and western parts of Turkey with eastern and central Turkey fine and dry.
