Very cold across eastern Europe

Today
Windy across the United Kingdom today with an area of rain from Norway into Great Britain. Colder for Sweden and Finland with outbreaks of snow which will be heavy across Finland. After a dry morning across northern France and the Low Countries, rain moves in during the afternoon. Another belt of rain across southern France will die away in the afternoon. Rain is expected across Germany and as this moves into western Poland it may become freezing then snow develops across much of Poland in the afternoon.
Heavy snow showers will fall across Austria and Switzerland with rain and sleet across the former Czech Republic. Cold but mainly dry and bright across Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary. Snow is likely across the Baltic States with a dry day for Belarus and Russia but very cold. A band of rain will affect the far north of Spain but dry and mostly sunny across much of Iberia across into the Balearics, Italy, Greece and Turkey.

Tuesday
Gales accompanied by heavy rain will spill in across the United Kingdom today. A dry day in store for France, Belgium, Holland and Germany with sunnier spells. Outbreaks of light rain and snow will affect Poland today with light snow also for Sweden, Finland into the Baltic States, the Ukraine and Belarus. Continued cold but sunny across Russia today.
Fair and dry across much of Portugal and Spain today though some patchy light rain is expected across northern Spain. Sunny, dry weather will prevail from the Balearics eastward into Italy, the former Yugoslavia into Greece and Turkey. Mostly dry and cold across the Alpine Region, the former Czech Republic into Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria.
