High pressure building into western Europe

Today
It becomes mild across the United Kingdom as rain spreads in during the course of the day. An area of rain and snow with a risk of freezing rain will affect Poland, Germany and the Alpine Region along with the former Czech Republic. Rain is forecast for central and southern parts of France with northern France mainly dry with sunny spells. Fine and dry as well for the Low Countries and much of Norway and Denmark. A few snow showers will fall across Sweden with outbreaks of snow across Finland. A cold day with heavy snow showers for the Baltic Sates, Belarus and Russia.
A fine, sunny and pleasantly warm day to come across Portugal, Spain and the Balearics. Some light rain will fall across northern Italy and this turns heavier as it moves south during the afternoon. Rain mixed with snow spreads into the former Yugoslavia. A dry, cold day for Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria. Dry with sunny spells as well across Greece and Turkey.

Wednesday
Windy with more rain for the United Kingdom and this also spreads into Norway in the morning and into Sweden, Denmark, Holland and Belgium in the afternoon.
A dry, cold but mostly sunny day for Sweden and Finland after a frosty morning. High pressure centred over western Europe will give France, Germany and the Alpine Region a dry day with sunny spells. A dry day to come also across Poland, Belarus and the Ukraine. Just a few snow showers to come across Russia and the Baltic States. Largely dry and fine but continued cold for the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary. Windy and unsettled across the central Mediterranean with heavy spells of rain near the far south of Italy into Greece with showers expected across western parts of Turkey.
Fine across Cyprus and eastern Turkey and it remains sunny as well for Spain, Portugal and the Balearic Islands.
