Drier and sunnier in eastern Mediterranean

Today
Chilly across the United Kingdom with a day of sunshine and showers. Fine and dry for northern France, The Low Countries and Holland with some sunshine. An area of rain will lie across Germany into central and southern France. Very wet and windy across Portugal and Spain again today with heavy, thundery rain and this moves into the Balearics later. Rain too across the northern half of Italy with southern areas dry and sunny.
Rain is forecast across the Alpine Region with snow over the Alps. Southern parts of Norway and Sweden looks dry today but outbreaks of snow are forecast across northern parts of Norway, Sweden and all of Finland. Largely dry across Poland and the Baltic States with sunny spells. Snow showers will affect Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine. Patchy light rain is likely across the former Czech Republic, Romania and the former Yugoslavia. Fine and sunny weather will prevail cross Hungary, Bulgaria and Greece with showers across Turkey.

Thursday
Plenty of showers will redevelop across the United Kingdom today. A dry, bright day with sunny spells for Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium into northern France. An area of rain will stretch from Russia into the Baltic States, Belarus into Poland, Germany and central and southern parts of France.
Wet and windy cross Portugal and Spain with spells of heavy, thundery rain. Thundery rain also spreads into the Balearics across Corsica, Sardinia into northern Italy. Fine and dry across southern Italy. Scattered showers will fall across the Former Czech Republic, the former Yugoslavia, Romania and Hungary. A fine, sunny day across Bulgaria and Greece. Largely dry with sunny spells and just a few showers across Turkey. Lots of dry weather to come across Scandinavia with a few showers across Norway and Finland.
