Unsettled for much of Europe, but drier in the southeast and far north

Friday
An unsettled day across much of Spain and Portugal. There will be bands of rain sweeping eastwards, followed by showers. The rain affecting much of southern and western France too, and this could be heavy at times. More cloud and periods of rain across the Low Countries and parts of the south and west of Germany. For eastern Germany it should be drier with more broken cloud here and some sunny spells coming through. Some sunshine too across Poland with a few showers forming in the afternoon. Austria and Hungary have cloud and some showers, these perhaps merging to longer spells of rain. Mainly dry in Switzerland.
For Italy it should be a dry day with some sunny spells here, the best in the south. Dry weather for Greece too with some warm spells of sunshine, this extending into Turkey too. Crete and Cyprus remaining dry too. For most of Bulgaria and Romania it should stay dry and bright, but to the west there could be some showers.
Further north some showers affect the Baltic States. Finland should be dry with some sunshine here. Staying dry and bright across Denmark, Sweden and Norway with a few showers across the north of Scandinavia.

Saturday
Low pressure remains across much of western and central Europe. There will be more rain and string winds moving into parts of Portugal and western Spain. For the east and north of Spain it should be drier with some sunny spells. Showers affecting the west of France, some of them heavy, whilst much of eastern and southern France stay dry. Cloud and outbreaks of rain extending through the Low Countries and into central parts of Germany where some of the rain could be heavy. Rain too in southern Poland, but drier to the north. Heavier periods of rain across Austria and Hungary whilst Switzerland should be dry with some good spells of sunshine.
Italy should be generally dry with sunny spells here. The dry weather extends through Greece and Turkey too. Crete and Cyprus remain dry with plenty of sunshine. Some sunny spells through Bulgaria and Romania, but rain in western Romania later in the day.
For the Baltic States it should be staying dry through the day with some sunny spells. More dry weather in Finland with sunny spells here. High pressure keeps Norway and Sweden dry as well as Denmark.
