Low pressure bringing rain through many northern parts of Europe
Wednesday
A few showers over the far north of Spain and Portugal today, but for the majority of the country the day should be dry with some good spells of sunshine. Showers are likely to be continuing through France, with some of them heavy in the north, certainly less frequent to the south. A windy and showery day to come across the Low Countries with rain reaching western parts of Germany in the afternoon. Eastern Germany and Poland should be mainly dry with some sunny spells, but the risk of a shower cannot be ruled out. Over Austria and Hungary there will be some afternoon showers, whilst rain pushes into western Switzerland later.
A warm and dry day to come over Italy, where there will be some sunny spells and dry conditions throughout the day. High pressure persists through Greece and Turkey with some good spells of sunshine. Showers are likely in Bulgaria and Romania, some of the, heavy at times.
A breezier day in the baltic States with some showery precipitation here. Dry in Finland with some sunshine, whilst there will be variable cloud, a strong breeze and mainly dry weather in Sweden and Denmark. Further cloud and a few showers over parts of Norway.
Thursday
High pressure brings another dry day over much of Spain and Portugal. There will be some good spells of sunshine throughout the day and it should feel warm. Showers are likely in the north and northwest of France, although these less frequent than on Wednesday. Drier for southern France, sunny spells here. A few showers in the Low Countries and Germany, but more persistent rain is likely to reach western and central parts of Poland.
For Austria and Hungary there will be further showers, some of them heavy, but scattered overall. Mainly dry in Switzerland with some sunshine here. Italy should have a dry day with some more sunshine and it will feel warm. A fine day over most of Greece with more sunshine throughout the day, and the sunshine persists over Turkey. Finland will have cloud and some outbreaks of rain, most of it light. Patchy rain in southern Finland, but drier to the north. Sweden will have some outbreaks of rain in the south, and more rain through Denmark and southern Norway. For the north of Norway and Sweden the day should be dry.
