Heavy rain across Iberia

Today
It's a cold, windy and mostly unsettled weather scene across much of Europe and the Mediterranean today. Outbreaks of snow and snow flurries will push into England across the Low Counties, Holland, Denmark, northern Germany and parts of Poland. Southern Germany should be dry apart from wintry showers over the mountains. Heavy snow showers too to come across the Alpine Region. Here a strong east wind will produce a significant wind chill. Very wet and windy weather to come across Iberia with heavy rain with snow across parts of northern Spain. Heavy showers then follow into Portugal. Fair and dry across northern France with rain mixed with sleet across central areas and rain in the south. Rain pushes in across the Balearics today with a dry day for northern Italy while rain falls in the south. Outbreaks of snow are expected across the former Yugoslavia and across northern Greece today. Fine across southern Greece and Turkey today. A cold but dry and mostly sunny day to come across Hungary, Bulgaria, the Ukraine, Russia, the Baltic States and much of Scandinavia which is dominated but high pressure.
Expect top temperatures of 3C in London, 2C for Brussels, 3C for Paris, 5C for Madrid, 10C in Rome, 4C in Bucharest, 12C in Athens, 1C in Warsaw, 0C in Berlin, -10C in Moscow and -2C for Stockholm.

Monday
We'll still have the cold wind blowing across the United Kingdom and much of eastern Europe and Scandinavia today. Outbreaks of snow are forecast across England with snow also across eastern Germany and it looks heavy across Austria and Switzerland. There is a risk of snow across Belgium then rain in the afternoon. Light snow is also forecast for Holland and Denmark. Some heavy showers will affect Portugal today. Areas of heavy rain will affect Spain, France and the northern half of Italy with snow over the hills of northern Italy. Morning rain should clear the Balearics then expect a few showers. Bitterly cold across Scandinavia and much of eastern Europe with sub zero maximum temperatures. It does look dry and sunny though across Norway, Sweden, Finland and across the Baltic States into Russia with sunny skies and a few freezing fog patches and a severe frost. Dry and well across much of Poland, Belarus, the Ukraine and Romania except for a few snow flurries. Much of Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey should be fair and dry.
