Fine conditions over much of Spain and Portugal, but staying cold in the north and east

Friday
A fine day through Spain and Portugal. Lots of dry weather here with some good spells of sunshine to come, especially to the west. Dry for southern parts of France, but to the north there is going to be cloud and periods of rain and sleet. Across the Low Countries it will be cold with sleet and snow, this affecting the north of Germany too. For southern parts of Germany is will be dry with sunny spells. A cold day through Poland with snow showers here as well, some of them heavy to the east. Through Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland there will be some snow showers, these fairly well scattered.
Into Italy the day is going to be cold with further showers, a few of these heavy to the east. Heavy showers, some of them wintry affecting Greece, with heavy showers through Crete, the Aegean and into Turkey. Low pressure brings more persistent snow through Bulgaria and Romania.
To the north outbreaks of snow affects the Baltic States, with some snow showers over southern Finland as well. Northern Finland should be dry and will stay cold. Further snow showers in eastern Sweden whilst to the west it is going to be dry. A few snow showers over western and northern Norway, but to the south and east it is going to be dry with sunny spells.

Saturday
The area of high pressure brings more fine weather through Portugal and western Spain, while to the east it is going to be cool with a few showers here. Further showers, some of them wintry across southern France and it will be windy here too. Drier to the north with lighter winds and some sunny spells. The day should be a dry one for the Low Countries and most of Germany, although a few wintry showers cannot be ruled out here and through Germany. The snow showers tending to be more widespread over Poland, and these snow showers pushing southwards through Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland.
Further showers to come through Italy, some of them heavy at times. The heavy showers affect Greece as well, these showers also affecting Crete. Unsettled in Turkey where the showers will be falling as sleet and snow. More snow showers through Bulgaria and Romania, some of them heavy.
Further north it will be windy through the Baltic States with some snow showers moving in here in the afternoon, and feeling bitterly cold. Snow could move into eastern Finland later on in the day, whilst to the west it will be dry. A cold day to come over Norway, Sweden and Denmark and mainly dry here too.
