Mild across western Europe
Today
Quite mild today in the west but quite cold in the east with sub zero highs across eastern Europe. An area of moderate to heavy snow pushes out of Sweden into Finland, the Baltic States, Poland into southern parts of Germany and across the Alpine Region. Rain clears eastern parts of France with much of the country fair and dry and mild as well. Rather damp today across Belgium, northern Germany, Holland and Denmark with outbreaks of light rain. Mainly a dry day to come for the United Kingdom and staying mild. A fine, sunny day for Portugal, Spain and the Balearics. Showers and rain is forecast across Italy and Greece. A few showers to come across the former Yugoslavia, Turkey, Bulgaria and Hungary. Fair and dry toady across Romania, the Ukraine, Belarus and much of Russia.
Expect top temperatures of 11C in London, 8C for Brussels, 9C for Paris, 16C for Madrid, 12C in Rome, 3C in Bucharest, 10C in Athens, -4C in Warsaw, 4C in Berlin, -10C in Moscow and 1C for Stockholm.

Cold but not quite so cold today across eastern parts of Europe. Further outbreaks of snow, heavy at times will fall from the Baltic States into Poland, the eastern and southern parts of Germany and across Austria and Switzerland. Mainly dry and bright for the United Kingdom across into the Low Counties, Holland and Denmark. Apart from a few wintry showers across the north of Norway and Sweden, much of Scandinavia should be cold but dry and bright with sunny spells. Another fine dry day across Spain and the Balearics. Heavy showers and scattered thunderstorms will affect Corsica, Sardinia, Greece and Turkey today. A few showers are forecast for northern Italy but mainly dry in the south. Rain is forecast across the former Yugoslavia but mainly dry across Hungary and Bulgaria along with the Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.
