More settled across Europe with high pressure

Today
Today it will start to become a bit milder across western parts of Europe, turning quite warm by mid week. Mostly fine and dry across the United Kingdom today. Fine and sunny across France. Wintry showers will persist over the Alps today with lots of showers to affect Italy. Portugal will be staying sunny and dry but more heavy showers with a risk of thunder will persist across central and eastern Spain. Thundery rain also will fall across the Balearics so quite a wet day here. High pressure will keep Belgium, Holland, Denmark and much of Germany and Poland fine and dry with sunny spells. An area of moderate rain will spread across Norway into Sweden while a dry day to come across Finland, The Baltic Stats and northern Russia. A belt of rain will affect central and southern Russia along with Belarus and the Ukraine. Lots of showers are expected for the former Yugoslavia. More sunshine is in the forecast across Greece and Turkey and here the weather looks fine all day.

Tuesday
High pressure will give a large part of mainland Europe a fine settled day. Lots of increasingly warm sunshine will be found across the United Kingdom, into northern and central parts of France across the Low Counties into Holland, Denmark and Germany. Look out for some heavy thunderstorms in the south of France and across eastern parts of Spain. Portugal and the rest of Spain looks fine and sunny. Those thundery showers are also likely across the Balearics into northern Italy, Greece and the former Yugoslavia. Sunny and dry though for central and southern parts of Italy. Some patchy rain is likely across parts of Norway and Sweden with more persistent rain to fall across Finland. Just a few showers today across the Baltic States. Lots of dry weather will be found across Poland, Belarus into western Russia, the Ukraine and into Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria.
