Improving weather in the Mediterranean whilst the north suffers more winter storms
Monday
A fair day over Spain and Portugal with high pressure in control. There will be some spells of sunshine, particularly to the north and west. Further south cloud is expected and this may produce some outbreaks of rain. Southern France should be fine with some sunny spells too and it should be dry here. For the north there will be some thicker cloud around and this is going to be bringing a few showers here and there. Showers too for the Low Countries, a few of them on the heavy side. Showers and sunny spells spreading through Germany and into Poland. Further showers for Austria and Spain, a few of them heavy at times.
Into Italy the day is going to be unsettled again with periods of rain, most of them affecting the north of the country. Through Greece it should be dry with some sunny spells, a few showers to the west. Turkey sees a few heavy showers here and there, but mainly it should be dry. Generally dry across Bulgaria and Romania too.
To the north the day will be chilly with a few snow flurries over the Baltic States and Finland with some snow showers for northeast Sweden. The rest of the country should be dry with some sunshine. Heavy showers affecting Denmark and the west of Norway where it may be windy too.
Tuesday
High pressure brings a fine day once again through Spain and Portugal, lots of sunshine here and dry throughout. More sunshine too in the south of France, but to the north there will be increased winds, cloud and some periods of rain. More rain to come across the Low Countries and northern parts of Germany, whilst to the south it will be windy. A few showers over Poland, these merging into periods of rain in the afternoon. Hungary should be mainly dry whilst Hungary and Switzerland are at risk of some cloud and showers.
High pressure also affects Italy where the day is likely to be a dry one with sunny spells. Some sunshine too for Greece, but showers in the east. Low pressure in the Black Sea brings rain and strong winds to much of Turkey and Crete with the risk of snow for Bulgaria and Romania.
Another area of low pressure affects the Baltic States bringing snow showers here, with Finland being mainly dry and bright. Snow showers in northern Sweden but dry to the south. Sunny spells and largely dry over Denmark with some hefty showers across Norway.
