The best of the sunshine in the southwest, but another unsettled day for the eastern Mediterranean
Wednesday
A fine day to come through much of the central and western Mediterranean. Corsica, Sardinia, the Balearics and Spain and Portugal will be dry with some good spells of sunshine throughout the day. Dry through the far south of France with sunny spells. Central and northern France will have cloud, wind and some outbreaks of rain and this will be pushing into the Low Countries, Germany and Switzerland as well as western Poland. Austria and Hungary will be dry with some hazy spells of sunshine.
More eastern parts of the Mediterranean stay unsettled with further outbreaks of rain through Greece, where it will be windy as well. For Crete it will be bright with sunny spells and a few showers. Turkey will have some showers to the south and west with inland areas being drier. To the north the weather stays mixed through Bulgaria and Romania will more cloud and showers or rain here.
A colder plunge of air over eastern Poland and the Baltic States and Finland with a scattering of wintry showers here. Fair and dry, but cold over Sweden as well as through Norway. Through Denmark and southern Sweden it will be cloudy with some outbreaks of rain and strong winds.
Thursday
Another dry day with lots of sunshine to come across Portugal and Spain as well as the Balearics. Fair again to the south of France, but cloud and some periods of mainly light rain and strong winds across central and northern France. The cloud increasing through the Low Countries bringing some patchy rain here later. Mainly dry across Germany with a few showers, but some cloud and outbreaks of rain in Poland. Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland will be dry with some sunny spells.
To the south there will be low pressure in Italy and this is going to be giving a few heavy showers. A risk of some showers through Greece, an odd one heavy. Scattered showers for Crete and Cyprus with heavier showers for Turkey. Bulgaria and Romania will be mainly dry with some sunny spells.
To the north the Baltic States and Finland will have a fine day with plenty of sunshine here and widespread chilly conditions. Dry and cold too through Sweden and most of Norway. however, southern Norway will be breezy and cloudier with some patchy rain, and this wind, cloud and periods of rain will extend through southern Denmark too.
