Unsettled in the central Mediterranean, but improving tomorrow
Wednesday
Some cloud and showers in the east of Spain, but more unsettled weather and showery rain affecting the Balearics and southern France. For central and western parts of Spain and Portugal it is going to be a dry day with some sunny spells. The sunshine continues for northern France too, where it is going to be dry with some more sunny spells. Across the Low Countries and Germany there will be a stiff east breeze but also plenty of dry weather and sunny spells. Fair through Poland with further spells of sunshine. Thicker cloud and some showers extend through Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
To the south there will be cloud and some spots of rain in the west, but to the east and south there will be drier weather and some sunny spells. fair weather for Greece, Crete, Turkey and Cyprus with plenty of sunshine here. More cloud and some rain too across western Bulgaria and Romania, but to the east it will be dry with sunshine.
A very cold day through the Baltic States with the winds in the north. These will give cold conditions and a few wintry showers. More sleet or snow showers over Finland and bitterly cold here. Over Sweden there will be some wintry showers in the far south, but otherwise the day should be dry with sunny spells. More cloud and dry weather for southern Norway, but drier to the north.
Thursday
A mainly fair day over most of Spain and Portugal with some good spells of sunshine, the best to the south. Over eastern coasts there will be more cloud and a chance of some showers here. Further showers through the Balearics with showers and these could be heavy at times. Over the south of France there will be some cloud and showers although central and northern areas will be dry with sunny spells. A breezy day across the Low Countries and Germany but staying fine with some good spells of sunshine throughout. Fair too for most of Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Cloud and some outbreaks of showery rain affect northern Italy, but for the rest of the country the day should be dry and brighter with sunny spells. More cloud and a few spots of rain to come through western Greece, but the east should be dry and fine with good spells of sunshine here. A more unsettled day to come across Turkey with heavy showers here.
A fair day to come across the Baltic States whilst cloud and some outbreaks of rain and sleet affect Finland. A fair day overall across Sweden, Norway and Denmark with some sunny spells. Thicker cloud through central and northern parts of Scandinavia bringing some sleety rain here.
