Heavy showers in central Mediterranean

Today
Expect sunshine and showers across the United Kingdom today with an area of heavy rain from Belgium into France and eastern Spain. This continues moving east into Holland, Denmark and Germany in the afternoon. Sunshine and showers then replace the rain across northern France. A fine, sunny day to come for Portugal and western Spain. A wet day across the Balearics with lots of showers again for Italy and the former Yugoslavia. Mainly dry and sunny across Greece perhaps with just a few afternoon showers popping up. Thundery rain is forecast across Turkey. A fine, sunny day is expected across Hungary, Bulgaria into Romania, Poland into the Baltic States and much of Russia. Warm here as well. Rain will push in across Norway while Sweden and Denmark looks fine and dry.

Wednesday
The warm weather persists across eastern Europe with temperatures well into the twenties. A belt of heavy rain clears England and moves in across northern France into Belgium and Holland in the afternoon after a dry morning. Quite windy here as well. Fine across much of Germany with just a few showers in the east of the country. A few sharp showers too across the south of France with some heavy thunderstorms moving into the central Mediterranean across Sardinia and Corsica. A drier, sunnier day across Italy. Lots of fine sunshine is forecast across Spain today but a few showers are possible across the Balearics. High pressure will give the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria and Hungary a dry, mostly sunny day. An unsettled and generally wet ay to come across much of Scandinavia with outbreaks of rain. Rain too to come across the Baltic States into northern parts of Poland.
