Rain in western areas, but mainly fine in the south
Thursday
A band of showery rain affects Portugal and becomes heavy over the north of Spain today. Much of eastern and southern Spain should be fine with sunny spells. Cloud and rain will be affecting the west of France too, and again this could be heavy at times. The east of France should be dry with sunny spells. For the Low Countries and much of Germany the day is going to be fair with some good spells of sunshine, but eastern Germany will have more cloud and some showers here from time to time. Thicker cloud too for the west of Poland and the threat of some rain, the rain extending southwards to Hungary. Austria and Switzerland are going to be dry with good sunny spells here.
High pressure brings a fair day to Italy with sunny periods. A few showers for the north of Greece, but the south should be fine and sunny as ill be Crete, Cyprus and Turkey. A more unsettled day for Bulgaria and Romania where there could be some heavy rain or showers.
To the north a breezy day is on the cards through the Baltic States, but it should be fair here. A pleasant day too across Finland and much of Norway whilst some cloud affects western parts of Sweden.
Friday
A fair day for most of Spain and Portugal with sunny spells here throughout the day. Some cloud and the threat of some light drizzle over the west of France, whilst the east should be dry with more spells of sunshine to come here throughout. For the Low Countries the day should be dry with sunshine, whilst some cloud and a few spots of light drizzle may affect northern Germany, the south being dry. A bright day for Poland and dry too with the dry and sunny weather extending through Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Some heavy showers could form over Italy in the afternoon, but these should be fairly well scattered. Fine weather to come across Greece and Crete, whilst some heavy showers affect the west of Turkey. Many central and eastern areas should be dry through the day with sunny spells. More unsettled weather for Bulgaria and Romania, heavy showers here through the day.
High pressure over Scandinavia will be bringing fair conditions. Good spells of sunshine for the Baltic States and Finland, and dry too. More sunshine across Sweden and Denmark as well as much of Norway, although there will be some cloud in western Norway later.
