Cold for much of eastern Europe, rain in the south

Wednesday
A band of cloud and showery rain affecting the southern parts of Spain and Portugal today. The north and central parts of Iberia will be dry with sunny spells, although feeling cool. Cloud and some rain over the south of France, but through central and northern areas there will be sunny spells. Dry for the Low Countries with scattered showers in Germany. Cloud and some periods of rain with brisk winds in Poland and a cloudy, damp day across Hungary, Austria and Switzerland.
An unsettled day for Italy with cloud and periods of rain, some of it heavy in the north. Greece will be dry with sunny spells, although for Turkey there will be showers, a few of them heavy. The showers affecting Bulgaria and Romania too.
To the north the Baltic States will be dry and windy with sunny spells. Dry and cold as well as breezy in Finland and for most of Sweden. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain over Denmark and the far southern Norway, whilst most of the country should be dry with sunny spells.

Thursday
A dry and cool day for much of central and southern Iberia. Showers will be affecting the north and these could be heavy at times. Heavy showers for much of France with the threat of some thunderstorms in places. Heavy showers blowing through the Low Countries and Germany, merging to longer periods of rain at times. A dry day over Poland with sunny spells. Austria, Hungary and Switzerland will all have some sunny spells, but also scattered heavy showers.
A few heavy showers in northern Italy. Fair through central areas with sunny spells. Cloud and some showery rain over the far south of Italy. Greece will be warm with sunny spells, and it should be a fine day across Turkey and Cyprus. Cloudier skies for Bulgaria and Romania with the risk of a few spots of rain.
The Baltic States will be cold and windy with outbreaks of rain turning to sleet and possibly snow. A cold day in Finland with sunny spells. Rain spreading north through Sweden, turning to sleet and snow. Drier with sunny spells to the south. Denmark will have some showers, with cloud and outbreaks of rain over southern Norway. Fair across central and northern Norway.
