Wintry showers for Spain

Today
The bitterly cold weather continues across Europe today. Expect heavy snow across Britain with snow or wintry showers also for northern France, Belgium, Holland and Denmark. Largely dry but cloudy across much of Germany with a few wintry showers across Bavaria. Very cold but dry and sunny weather is expected for Norway and Sweden. An area of moderate to heavy snow is expected from Finland down into Russia, The Baltic States, Poland, Belarus into the Ukraine and Hungary. It looks more like outbreaks of rain today across Romania into Bulgaria, Albania and the former Yugoslavia. A dry day across Greece with sunny spells. Dry as well for Turkey but rather cloudy. Some light rain is expected across Italy today with rain too for Portugal. Colder across Spain but mainly dry with sunny spells across the Balearics. Fine across the south of France with lots of sunshine.

Thursday
Just a few wintry showers to come across the United Kingdom today. Outbreaks of snow are forecast across northern France with just a few rain showers in the south. Cloudy but mainly a dry day to come for Belgium and Holland with snow showers across Denmark. Cold but fair and dry across Germany and Norway. Outbreaks of heavy snow will affect Sweden, Finland, The Baltic States, Russia, Belarus, Poland and parts of the Ukraine while rain is expected across Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania along with the former Yugoslavia. It remains dry across Greece and Turkey but rather cloudy. Heavy snow showers will fall across the Alps today and even a mix of rain, sleet and snow showers are likely across Portugal and Spain. An area of rain will lie across the Balearics into northern Italy with southern Italy dry with some sunshine. Sub zero maximum temperatures will prevail across much of mainland Europe today.
