Heavy snow in places

Today
The bitterly cold weather continues across Europe today. Expect snow across Britain with snow also for central northern France, Belgium, Holland and Denmark. This area of snow will also extend across much of Germany into Poland, Belarus into Belarus. This may be heavy and drifting in the strong winds. Across Norway, Sweden and Finland it looks mainly dry but bitterly cold. Across western Russia and the Baltic States it also will be dry and sunny today but very cold with severe frosts. Across the Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria it looks cloudy and damp with outbreaks of rain and sleet with snow over high ground. A number of showers are expected across Greece as rain spreads into western Turkey. An unsettled and chilly day to come across Italy with some mainly light rain. A cold day across Iberia. Snow is forecast for northern and central parts of Spain today with rain in the south. The Balearics should get by with a fair day with sunny spells. Heavy snow is expected across the Alps.

Monday
More snow is expected across the United Kingdom today. Dry today across much of France with some sunshine and occasional cloud. Outbreaks of snow will affect the Low Countries and will stretch eastward into Germany, Poland, Belarus into the Ukraine and will be heavy. It stays dry and sunny across Norway and Sweden while heavy snow and freezing rain will affect Finland. Another dry but cold day for the Baltic Region and western Russia. Cold with snow forecast across she former Yugoslavia. Mainly dry today for Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria. Dry as well with sunny spells cross Greece and Turkey. Cold across Italy today with sleet, rain and snow. Wet too across Portugal and Spain with outbreaks of main light rain.
