Today
It will be bitterly cold across much of mainland Europe today. A band of snow tracks south into England today and later edge's into Belgium, Holland and the far north of France. Milder in the south of France with rain. A mainly dry day across Germany again with some sunshine while snow is in the forecast for Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Heavy snow is likely today for the Baltic States, Belarus, eastern Poland and western Russia. A dry day to come across Romania and the Ukraine but very cold. Light snow is expected across Hungary with sleety rain and snow for the former Yugoslavia. A wet, cold day with rain for Greece but dry and mostly sunny for Turkey. Still some rain today for eastern Spain but for western Spain and Portugal it's drier and sunnier. Frequent heavy showers are expected across The Balearics into the central Mediterranean with rain for the northern half of Italy, dry and fine in the south. Scattered snow showers persist across Switzerland and Austria.

Wednesday
The bitterly cold weather continues across Europe today. Expect snow showers across Britain with snow or wintry showers also for northern France, Belgium, Holland and Denmark. Largely dry but cloudy across much of Germany with a few wintry showers across Bavaria. Very cold but dry and sunny weather is expected for Norway and Sweden. An area of moderate to heavy snow is expected from Finland down into Russia, The Baltic States, Poland, Belarus into the Ukraine and Hungary. It looks more like outbreaks of rain today across Romania into Bulgaria, Albania and the former Yugoslavia. A dry day across Greece with sunny spells. Dry as well for Turkey but rather cloudy. Some light rain is expected across Italy today with rain too for Portugal. Colder across Spain but mainly dry with sunny spells across the Balearics. Fine across the south of France with lots of sunshine.
