Unsettled for much of Europe

Today
Strong winds will move into the United Kingdom and western France today. Expect a mix of rain, sleet and snow across Britain with outbreaks of rain across western France and Iberia and it will be quite heavy rain. Largely a dry day for the Balearics until rain arrives in the evening. Severe frosts will affect much of central and eastern Europe today. Sunny and dry weather will prevail across Norway, Sweden and Denmark under high pressure. Look for snow today across parts of Finland with snow also across Russia. Cold but dry with sunny spells across the Baltic States and Belarus. Further falls of snow are forecast across Poland and the Ukraine. A dry, bright day to come across Belgium, Holland and Germany with some sunshine. A lot of cloud across Italy today with sleety rain while more snow will fall over the Alps. Expect some snow across Romania the former Yugoslavia with lots of heavy showers for Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria.

More snow to come across Great Britain today but a dry day for Belgium and Holland with some sunshine. Outbreaks of light rain are expected for France with a spell of heavier rain to come across Portugal and Spain. A dry day across the Balearics. Snow is expected across eastern parts of Germany into Poland today. Bright and dry for western Germany. Across the Alps heavy further falls of snow are expected with a wet day across Italy with rain. Today outbreaks of snow will fall across Denmark, southern Norway, Finland and the Ukraine. Across the Balearics into Belarus it stays dry but cold with sunny spells. Mostly dry toady across Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria. More unsettled across the eastern Mediterranean with showers and longer spells of rain for Greece and Turkey. High temperatures will remain below freezing across eastern Europe and Scandinavia today.
