More snow in the east

Today
The cold temperatures persist across eastern parts of Europe and Scandinavia but will finally rise above the freezing mark across Germany. Some sleety rain is expected across England today with an area of more present rain across France, and Spain while it's a better day across Portugal with sunny spells. Across Belgium and Holland it's a mix of rain, sleet and snow today. Much of Germany looks dry today though some freezing rain is possible later in the west. Outbreaks of snow will affect Norway, Sweden, eastern parts of Poland into the Baltic States and into the Ukraine, some of it on the heavy side. For Finland and Russia a cold, cloudy but dry day to come. Rain, sleet and snow is forecast for Romania with general rain likely across the former Yugoslavia. Scattered showers are likely across Albania and Bulgaria with a dry day with sunny spells for Greece and Turkey. Fair and dry for the Balearic with outbreaks of rain across Italy.

Thursday
Heavy rain is forecast across much of Spain and Portugal and this will spread in across the Balearics late in the day. Showers and longer spells of rain will affect the south of England and northern France. Mainly dry and sunnier in the south of France. Quite a wet day today for Belgium and Holland with rain and snow forecast across Germany and Poland. An area of heavy snow fall is expected to affect Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the far north of Poland into the Baltic States into Belarus and the Ukraine. A rather cloudy, cold but dry day to come across Finland. A bit milder across Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Albania with outbreaks of rain. Occasional heavy showers will affect Turkey today but much of Greece fine and dry. Drier as well today across Italy with just a few scattered showers.
