Remaining bitterly cold in eastern Europe, Scandinavia

Today
Outbreaks of moderate to heavy rain is expected across England, northern France and into Belgium and Holland. For the south of France it remains dry but rather cloudy. Heavy snow is likely across Denmark and Germany and this may affect the south of Norway. Mainly dry for Sweden with lots of cloud. A wide area of locally heavy snow will fall across Finland, Russia, the Baltic States, Belarus into Poland. Just a few snow flurries across the Ukraine. High pressure will keep it dry across Hungary, into the former Yugoslavia, Romania and Bulgaria. A better day across Greece and Turkey with lots of sunshine on offer. Across Iberia it will be a fine, dry and mostly sunny day and this extends across the Balearics into Italy.

Rain preceded by snow spreads across the United Kingdom. Most a dry day today across France but some snow is possible in the extreme east. A dry, bright day in store for Belgium, and Holland but more heavy snow to come across Germany, The Alpine Region into Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland into Hungary. A cold but dry day to come across Finland into Belarus while outbreaks of snow will fall across The Baltic States and western Russia. Cold but dry with sunny spells for Romania, the former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. Outbreaks of rain will spread into Portugal and south west Spain. Fair and dry across the rest of Iberia into the Balearics and Italy with sunnier spells.
