Rain in the western Mediterranean, fair to the east
Thursday
Periods of rain through the Balearics on Thursday, with more rain in the west of Portugal. However, for the rest of Spain and Portugal the day should be fair with sunny spells. Some drizzle affecting the far south of France, although otherwise the day here will be dry with sunny spells. More cloud and some rain through the Low Countries and into Germany, where it could be heavy and wintry at times. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain or snow for Poland. Hazy sunny spells and mainly dry in Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Italy should have a mild and fair day with sunny spells. The sunshine extends through Greece and into Turkey with more sunshine here. Further sunshine for Bulgaria and Romania throughout the day.
The Baltic States will have some wintry weather, outbreaks of snow at times and this extending through Finland too. Further snow over central and northern Sweden with snow showers to the south. A fair day through Denmark and Norway with some sunny spells here and staying dry.
Friday
A fine day to come through Spain and Portugal today; lots of sunshine for all places and feeling warm too. Low pressure will be bringing showers into southern and eastern parts of France, but to the west it will be bright with sunny spells, although breezy. Cloud and some rain over northeast France, this moving into the Low Countries through the day. A cloudy day with a few spots of rain and strong winds in Germany and Poland. Cloud and some drizzle for Hungary and Austria as well as Switzerland.
Italy will have variable cloud and some spots of rain or drizzle in the west. Fair through Greece and Turkey, although feeling colder here. Cold too through Bulgaria and Romania, although it should be dry.
To the north colder weather is ready to break back into the Baltic States and the Low Countries. This brings some snow showers through Sweden. Strong winds and some snow showers for Denmark and southern Denmark, although the north should be dry.
