A risk of snow in eastern Spain, rain for much of Italy
Thursday
A cold day across Spain and Portugal in a stiff northeast wind. There will be some showers around eastern Spain and through the Balearics, with a risk of these being wintry at times. Drier weather further to the west with sunny spells here. Cold and windy across France with snow flurries at times, most of them to the east. Further snow showers to come over the Low Countries and Germany where some of them may be heavy. Staying cold and wintry in Poland too with some snow showers here. Austria, Hungary and Switzerland and all cloudy with the risk of some snow flurries here.
To the south low pressure over Italy will be bringing cloud and periods of rain, although snow and strong winds may affect the north. Through more central and southern areas the rain will be more showery. Heavy showers will be passing through Greece and Crete, With cloud, rain and showers for Turkey too. B Bulgaria and Romania are unsettled with a mix of rain, sleet and snow.
To the north it is a cold day across the Baltic States with Cold weather and a few bright spells here. Chilly for Finland but mainly dry. A cold day for Norway with dry conditions. Cold and dry too for much of Denmark, although drizzle in the north, this affecting much of Norway too.

Cloud and rain will be affecting the far south of Portugal and Spain today. More central, northern and eastern areas will be drier with sunny spells. Cold again across the whole of France with sunny spells and a biting northeast wind, together with a few snow showers. The snow showers affecting the Low Countries and Germany too. Poland will have a cold northeast breeze and some snow showers, these turning more persistent later. Cold again through Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
For Italy the day will be a cold one in the north with sunny spells and a few snow showers. Through more central and southern areas there will be cloud and some outbreaks of rain. Rain again for Greece, heaviest in the north, with Crete generally dry. More cloud and outbreaks of rain across Turkey, this extending north into Bulgaria and Romania.
For the Baltic States it will be cold with some snow flurries. Cold too in Finland, but it should be dry here. More cold weather for Sweden, some snow in the south and the risk of rain and snow to the north. Very cold through Denmark and southern Norway with dry weather here.
