The cold persists in the north, but rain in the Mediterranean
Friday
Cloud and rain affecting the southwest of Portugal and Spain through today. For the rest of Iberia the day should be dry with some spells of sunshine. A cold day to come through France with a strong northeast breeze and a mix of sunny spells and snow showers. Further snow showers to come through the Low Countries and Germany with more persistent snow over Poland. A wintry feel to the weather for Austria, Hungary and Switzerland with some snow showers here at times.
Low pressure brings some snow flurries to northern Italy, whilst central parts of the country are cloudy and wet. More cloud and some outbreaks of rain through Greece with drizzle in southern Turkey. Bulgaria and Romania may be rather grey with mist.
A very cold day to come over the Baltic States with some snow flurries here. Further snow flurries drifting into Finland. Sweden and Denmark will be cold in a northeast wind, wit drier and brighter weather for southern Denmark. Northern Denmark has cloud and some drizzle.
Saturday
Cloud and some light rain for the far south of Spain today. Elsewhere Spain and Portugal should be fine with lots of sunshine. Cold again cross France with some snow flurries in the south and fair weather to the north. Cold but mainly dry over the Low Countries and much of Germany, although there could be some snow showers here. Further cloud and some snow flurries to come through Poland. Similar weather across Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland.
Italy will have a more settled day although a few heavy showers cannot be ruled out through more central and northern areas. Heavy showers moving into Greece too, with some more persistent rain passing east through Greece. Heavy showers, turning to sleet and snow for Bulgaria and Romania.
A cold day to come through the Baltic States with snow showers here. Cold again for Finland, just an odd snow flurry here and there. Cold too for Sweden, although the threat of some snow in the south here. Cold again across Denmark and southern Norway but it should be dry.
