Today
Sub zero temperatures continue to grip much of central and eastern Europe as winter stays in control. Largely dry across England today. Outbreaks of snow are forecast across Belgium, Holland into Germany and Poland. Mainly a dry, cold day across Denmark. Apart from a few snow showers for western Norway, Norway looks cold and sunny. Dry too for much of Sweden though some heavier snow may affect the far south. This area of heavier snow is to extend into the Baltic States, Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine into Hungary, Romania into Albania with avalanche warnings out across northern Slovenia. A better day across the former Yugoslavia with a dry day to come. Just a few showers are forecast across parts of Greece with rain moving in across Turkey from the west. A cold day across Iberia with any residual rain and snow in the south clearing. A few showers will be found around the Balearics today with a dry day across Italy.
Sunday
A dry day to come across England and western and southern parts of France. For central and eastern parts of France some light snow is expected. Rather cloudy and cold across Belgium, Holland and Denmark with a few snow flurries. More persistent snow is expected across Germany into Poland, Belarus, Russia and the Ukraine, some of it heavy. A mainly dry, very cold day across Norway, Sweden and the south of Finland. Further falls of snow are forecast across the Balkans today with rain showers for the south of Greece while much of Turkey is dry but cloudy. Snow is expected across the Alps with rain, sleet and snow across Italy. Continued cold across Portugal and Spain but a dry day until rain reaches Portugal in the evening.
