Best of the sunshine in the central Mediterranean
Friday
An area of cloud and rain will be drifting into the northwest of Portugal and northern Spain today. Much of southern and central Spain stays dry with further spells of sunshine through the day. Fair for the far south of France, but through central and northern areas it is going to be cloudy with rain, some of this heavy at times. The rain arriving in the Low Countries too. Germany should have a dry day with more spells of sunshine, and it should be mainly dry too in Poland. A fair day to come for Austria and Hungary with Switzerland dry as well.
Sunny spells and scattered showers to come through Italy, with some of those showers being heavy at times. Further showers to come for Greece and Crete, although some high cloud will be making the sunshine hazy across Turkey and Cyprus. Bulgaria and Romania will have scattered showers, a few of them heavy, but sunny spells too.
Further north and the Baltic States has cloud and some spots of drizzle. A cloudy day too for Finland where there could be some drizzle at times. Generally fine for Sweden with sunny spells, but cloud and some showers as well as a strong southerly wind affect Denmark and Norway.
Saturday
An area of cloud and showery rain affects much of central and northern Portugal today, as well as the north of Spain. To the south conditions are set to be fair with some sunny spells.For the far south of France the day is likely to be fair too with some spells of sunshine, but for most of the rest of the country there will be cloud and some outbreaks of showery rain. A cold and windy day for the Low Countries with rain here, and this extending into Germany. Poland should be dry overall with some sunny spells to come here.
For Austria and Hungary there will be cloud and some spots of rain, although in Switzerland the day is going to be fair with sunny spells. High pressure across Italy brings a fair day here with good periods of sunshine and it will be feeling warm too. More warm sunshine through Greece, but some heavy showers could develop across Turkey. Bulgaria and Romania will have some heavy showers from time to time, especially in the east.
For the baltic States there will be cloud and some drizzle, this extending north towards Finland. Sweden should enjoy a fair day with sunny spells and it should stay fair overall across Denmark and Norway. Denmark is likely to experience more cloud and the risk of some rain later.
