The heat triggering some heavy showers across southern Europe
Wednesday
Another fair day to come across Spain and Portugal. There will be good spells of sunshine throughout the day here. Cloud and some showery rain moving into the north of France, this affecting the Low Countries too. The rain could become heavy at times and will be affecting the north of Germany as well. Through southern Germany there will be fine conditions with some sunshine here. Poland should be dry with sunny spells. heavy showers affecting Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Fine weather for much of Italy, although there could be some heavy showers forming across the north. Dry with good spells of sunshine for Greece and feeling very warm here as well. Heavy showers and thunderstorms over the high ground of Turkey, but the coasts should stay fair. More sunshine to come through Bulgaria and Romania.
High pressure brings largely fair weather to the Baltic States, but the risk of a shower is there. Fair for Finland with sunny spells. Cloud and some rain are going to be affecting southern Sweden, but the north should escape these. Showery in Denmark, some of them heavy with some heavy showers across southern Norway too.
Thursday
A few showers forming over the mountains of Spain and Portugal today but generally it is going to be hot again with some good spells of sunshine. A band of showers may affect central and southern France too, although these tending to be scattered. Drier for northern France with sunny spells. A few heavy showers into the Low Countries with some thunderstorms affecting Germany. Poland will be largely fair with sunny spells, although some cloud in the west. Hungary should be fine with plenty of sunshine. Heavy, thundery showers in Switzerland and Austria.
Showers may affect the far north of Italy, but for most of the country it should be a fine day with lots of hot sunshine. More hot sunshine across Greece and Turkey, although the risk of a few showers over the mountains here. Some thunderstorms could break out in Bulgaria and Romania, but generally hot and dry here.
The Baltic States will have scattered showers, but Finland should be dry with sunshine. Variable cloud over Sweden and the risk of some patchy rain in the south. Bright for Denmark and Norway with sunny spells here.
