Mixed conditions across Europe
Thursday
A fair day for Spain and Portugal with plenty of sunshine. Showers affecting the west of France, these heavy at times. For eastern parts of France the showers will be more persistent, and this rain reaching the Low Countries. Low pressure over Germany will bring showers, some of them heavy and some cloud and rain into Poland too. The rain affecting Hungary but Austria and Switzerland should be mainly dry with sunny spells.
Low pressure brings rain to the west and south of Italy but more northern areas should be drier. Fair for Greece with sunny spells here throughout the day as a band of showers pass east through Crete and into the west of Turkey. More cloud and showery rain through Bulgaria and Romania.
Northern parts of Europe have cloud and rain through the Baltic States with further cloud and rain moving into Finland and turning to snow. Fair for Sweden and Norway with good spells of sunshine here, and the sunshine extends through Denmark too.
Friday
Friday brings cloud and rain to the west of Portugal. Much of Spain should be fair with lots of sunshine. Some cloud over the far west of France but for most of the country it should be dry with lots of sunshine. Heavy showers over the Low Countries as well as the north of Germany and Poland. More southern parts of Germany and Poland should be dry with sunny spells. Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland will be cloudy and damp.
Low pressure for Italy brings cloud and rain to the north. There will be showers in southern Italy with some showers moving into western Greece. For the rest of Greece and Turkey the day is going to be dry with plenty of sunshine. Cloud and some spots of drizzle for Bulgaria and Romania.
To the north cloud and rain will be affecting the Baltic States. High pressure over Finland bringing some fair weather here. More fair weather for much of Sweden with strong winds to the south. Some cloud and showery bursts of rain through Denmark with dry weather over Norway.
