Wet and windy in northern Europe, brighter to the south
Wednesday
A ridge of high pressure building through Portugal and Spain today. This is going to be bringing plenty of dry weather and good spells of sunshine. Southern parts of France should have some sunny spells too, but for more central and northern areas the day will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain. The rain extends through the Low Countries and into northern Germany where it is going to be windy. Staying cloudy and damp with a brisk southwest wind through more northern parts of Poland whilst the south should be dry. A fair day overall across Hungary and Austria with Switzerland fair with some sunny spells too.
Cloud and some outbreaks of rain for the north of Italy. For the rest of the country there will be sunny spells and some showers, these heavy at times. Greece should be fair with sunny spells with Turkey being dry and sunny too. Bulgaria and Romania are going to be dry with sunshine here.
To the north cloud and rain will be spreading eastwards through the Baltic States and Finland. Unsettled and windy with some heavy rain i the south of Norway. heavy showers following through Denmark and into the west of Norway.
Thursday
A fine day across Spain and Portugal. There will be good spells of sunshine here and it should be dry as well. More sunshine to come over the south of France, although breezier conditions affecting the north of France too. A windy day to come through the Low Countries and northern parts of Germany and Poland with the risk of some drizzle here. Austria, Switzerland and Hungary should all be dry with some sunny spells.
For Italy the day should be dry with sunny spells and fairly warm weather here too. Staying dry with some more sunshine for Greece and Turkey, the sunny spells extending into Bulgaria and Romania.
A breezy day for the Baltic States with sunny spells here. Some showers for Finland and cloud with heavy periods of rain passing through Denmark and into the south of Sweden. More rain to come for the far south and the far north of Norway, but sunny spells in between.
