Bitterly cold for most of Europe but warmer to the southeast

Thursday
A few showers for northern and western parts of Spain and Portugal and a cold day here too. Elsewhere across Iberia it should be mainly dry with sunny spells although heavy showers could affect the far south of Spain and the Balearics. Snow showers affecting much of France with the heaviest of them across more northern areas. Further snow showers through the Low Countries and northern Germany with more persistent snow in Poland. Bitterly cold here as well. Some snow flurries through Hungary but Austria and Switzerland should be dry with sunny spells.
A few showers over Italy but some sunny spells around too. Further showers for western Greece but the east will be dry with sunny spells. A fine day through Crete, Cyprus and Turkey although some snow showers and snow affecting Bulgaria and Romania.
Over the Baltic States and Finland it will be a very cold day although it should be dry. For Sweden the day will be dry and very cold, with the cold and dry weather continuing for Denmark and Norway.

Friday
A fair day across Portugal with sunny spells here and dry conditions. Cold across northern Spain with some showers, although the main a few of showers will be affecting eastern Spain and the Balearics. here the showers could be heavy and even wintry. Scattered wintry showers for western France where it will be cold, whilst the north is dry and cold. Bitterly cold weather with fog through the Low Countries and Germany as snow affects eastern Poland. Snow will be affecting Hungary and Austria too, this extending into Switzerland.
Low pressure east of Italy brings more unsettled weather here. A fine day across Greece and Greece as well as Cyprus and Crete. Gray and drizzly through Bulgaria and Romania.
More cloud and some snow over the Baltic States with dry weather in Finland, although feeling very cold here. Snow flurries for southeast Sweden, but fair elsewhere in the country. A bitterly cold day through Denmark and Norway with some more sunshine to come here.
