Very cold with snow across northern areas, but milder to the south
Wednesday
More rain and showers to come across Portugal and the north of Spain today. More central and southern parts of Spain should be dry with sunny spells. A cold day for southern France where it will be cloudy with some sleet or snow at times, and further snow across northern areas. Very cold for the Low Countries and Germany in a strong east wind and snow affecting the south. Cold too for Poland with some snow through southern areas. Cloud, rain, sleet and snow through Hungary, Austria and Switzerland, some of it heavy.
Italy will have an unsettled day with low pressure bringing cloud and rain across central and northern areas. To the south there will be sunshine and showers. Greece is going to be warm with sunny spells throughout whilst Turkey has a fine day too with more sunshine here. Cloud and some rain affect Bulgaria and Romania.
To the north high pressure brings a fair but very cold day to the Baltic States. Cloud and snow affecting Finland. A cold day for Sweden, Denmark and Norway too although stay mainly dry here.
Thursday
A few showers for northern and western parts of Spain and Porugal and a cold day here too. Elsewhere across Iberia it should be mainly dry with sunny spells although heavy showers could affect the far south of Spain and the Balearics. Snow showers affecting much of France with the heaviest of them across more northern areas. Further snow showers through the Low Countries and northern Germany with more persistent snow in Poland. Bitterly cold here as well. Some snow flurries through Hungary but Austria and Switzerland should be dry with sunny spells.
A few showers over Italy but some sunny spells around too. Further showers for western Greece but the east will be dry with sunny spells. A fine day through Crete, Cyprus and Turkey although some snow showers and snow affecting Bulgaria and Romania.
Over the Baltic States and Finland it will be a very cold day although it should be dry. For Sweden the day will be dry and very cold, with the cold and dry weather continuing for Denmark and Norway.
