Spells of heavy snow in the east, Scandinavia

Today
Bitterly cold with below freezing temperatures across northern and astern parts of Europe. Largely dry and not as cold across England today. Dry too across France with sunny spells and a bit milder than of late. Outbreaks of rain will affect Belgium, Holland and Denmark with snow moving across Norway and western Sweden while snow clears Finland in the afternoon. A large area of heavy snow is expected to fall across Russia, The Baltic States, Belarus into the Ukraine with snow or snow showers also across Romania, Bulgaria and the former Yugoslavia. Expect a few showers across Greece with heavy and more frequent showers across Turkey. Fine, sunny and mild across Portugal, Spain and the Balearics with a dry day as well across Italy. Heavy snow showers will affect the Alps.

The bitter cold continues across eastern Europe today. Continued dry today across Britain and France with sunny spells. More rain is to fall across Belgium Holland and Denmark and spreads into Germany as well. Further outbreaks of snow are forecast across Norway, Sweden and parts of Finland but dry and very cold across Russia today. Snow is also likely today across The Baltic States, Belarus into Poland, Hungry and the former Yugoslavia. Cold but dry across the Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria. Fine with sunny spells across Greece but heavy snow moves across Turkey today. Lots of sunshine to come across Italy, Spain and Portugal.
