A very cold day for most of Europe with some snow showers in the northeast
Sunday
Fair across Portugal and Spain with sunny spells. Cold but dry for France with some sunny spells after morning fog patches clear away. A few wintry showers in the Low Countries and Germany, although turning brighter through northern Germany and Poland later. Wintry showers through Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Low pressure over Italy keeps conditions unsettled and cold here. There will be some wintry showers, most to the north. Cloudier conditions on western coasts of Italy with some drizzle. Fair over Greece with sunny spells here. Low pressure for Greece bringing some showers and these could turn to longer spells of rain over southern Turkey. Increasing cloud through Bulgaria and Romania with drizzle later.
A cold day over the Baltic States with snow showers here. Fair for Finland with some clearer skies and feeling very cold too. Staying cold with snow showers over Sweden and Denmark, although Sweden should be dry.
Monday
Some heavy showers across southern parts of Portugal and Spain today. Most of Iberia should be fine with good spells of sunshine. A strong eastern wind through France bringing broken cloud, sunny spells and cold conditions. Fair across the Low Countries and Germany with some dense fog in places. Snow showers affecting Poland and Hungary. Austria and Switzerland should be dry with some sunny spells, but feeling very cold.
A fine day to come across Italy with plenty of sunshine. Low pressure in the Aegean will bring heavy rain, sleet and snow here with this extending through Turkey. Cold with some wintry showers across Bulgaria and Romania.
To the north a band of snow will move westwards through the Baltic States. Cold too for Finland with some clear periods. Snow showers across eastern parts of Sweden. Norway will be cold with some snow in western areas. Dry to the south, and staying cold and dry through Denmark.
