Spells of heavy snow central and eastern areas
Today
Very cold across Europe today, especially in the east where temperatures will stay below freezing all day. Scattered snow showers will affect England and some of these may be heavy across Belgium, northern France, Holland and Denmark. Some snow to come for eastern parts of France today with the west dry and sunnier. Much of Spain and Portugal will be dry with sunnier spells while plenty of showers will affect Italy. Heavy snow is expected to fall over the Alps with a wet and windy day across Italy, Mainly dry across Greece and Turkey today and sunny but very cold across Bulgaria and Romania. Snow showers are expected across the former Yugoslavia with heavy snow for Hungry and light snow into western Poland and western Germany. An area of heavy snow will affect Norway and Sweden with light snow across Finland. Bitterly cold across Russia and The Baltic States but dry. Snow is expected across The Ukraine today.

The bitter cold continues across eastern Europe today. Further snow showers will affect England today with outbreaks of snow forecast across France, Belgium, Holland and Denmark. This snow extends up into Norway and Sweden. Southern France looks dry as does much of Italy. Outbreaks of rain will push into the far south of Spain otherwise a dry day to come. Snow showers are forecast for the former Yugoslavia with snow into Bulgaria into Romania, The Ukraine, Poland the Baltic States and Russia. Cold but dry today across Germany and Finland. Ran is expected across Greece today but dry and sunny across Turkey.
