Cloud and periods of rain over the southern and northern third of Europe but fair in between
Thursday
High pressure across the British Isles will be brings a cold, northeasterly flow across much of central and southwestern parts of Europe. This brings cold, but largely dry weather to much of France, the Low Countries and Germany, and fairly breezy in the northern parts of these areas too. Cold weather extends through Spain and Portugal, although there will be good spells of sunshine for the west of Portugal and southern Spain.
Plenty of dry weather across Norway. Denmark and Sweden, although a few snow showers through central areas. breezier for Finland with some more persistent snow to come here and stronger winds too. The Baltic States will be cold but dry with some sunny spells.
To the south low pressure west of Italy brings lots of cloud here with periods of rain. This rain affecting Corsica and Sardinia as well. Greece and Turkey should be dry with some sunny spells. Dry and cold but with hazy sunshine to come through Bulgaria and Romania.
Friday
The area of high pressure stays in control over much of Europe through Friday. The high spreads from the UK, through much of France and into the west of Russia. It brings much dry but cold weather to the northern and central parts of France as well as the Low Countries, Germany, Poland and western Russia. There will be variable amounts of cloud in these area, although breaks in the cloud allowing some sunny spells to come through too.
The south of Europe is much more unsettled in a brisk east wind. Low pressure in the Mediterranean will be bringing some cloud and outbreaks of rain across eastern Spain, the Balearics, southern France and the south of Italy. It should be fair for much of Greece with sunny spells, although cloud and a few showers affect Turkey.
Unsettled across the northern third of Europe too. Plenty of wind across Norway and Sweden as well as Finland where there will be some periods of sleet and snow.
