Thundery rain developing for much of Europe
Sunday
Rain moves into the far south of England today with a wet day across the channel into northern France. Some heavy, thundery showers will affect western France and Portugal.
It's a day of sunshine and heavy showers as well across Belgium and Holland into Germany, across The Alps into northern Italy, Corsica and Sardinia. Fine across Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Poland, The Baltic States, Russia into the Ukraine, Belarus and Romania. Very warm across eastern Europe with long sunny spells with high pressure in control.
Sunnier, very warm and drier across the former Yugoslavia with just the odd shower. Sunny and warm for Bulgaria, Greece and western Turkey while heavy showers and thunderstorms affect eastern Turkey. Very warm and sunny across Spain with a few afternoon showers developing.
Monday
Showers will be developing today over inland parts of Spain and Portugal, some of them becoming heavy and thundery. It should be a dry and bright day over central and southern France, but to the north there will be some heavy showers. Low pressure brings some thundery showers to the Low Countries and Germany too. Similar conditions across Austria and Switzerland as well as northern Italy.
For central and southern Italy the day will be hot and sunny, although some afternoon heavy showers will be forming inland. Greece and Turkey will enjoy fine days with lots of sunshine throughout, and it should be warm too. Staying fine and warm across Bulgaria and Romania.
High pressure brings a fine day to Finland and the Baltic States. More cloud for southern Sweden with southern Norway seeing cloud too. Denmark may have broken cloud and a little drizzle at first.
