Heavy and thundery rain affecting parts of Spain and France, but fine for most of the Mediterranean
Tuesday
Mostly a dry day across England today. A number of heavy showers will affect western parts of France with eastern France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany and Poland to have a dry, sunny and warm summer's day.
Just a few showers develop over the Alps today and across the far north of Spain. Most of Spain and Portugal looks sunny and hot. Sunny across the Balearic's into Italy, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and the former Yugoslavia.
Some heavy showers with thunder will extend from Finland across the Baltic States into Belarus and the Ukraine. Outbreaks of rain are forecast for Norway with showers across Sweden.
Wednesday
Some cloud and rain affecting the far north of Spain today, where it will be feeling chilly too. Fair for the south of Spain and Portugal with sunny spells here. It will be dry and sunny across the Balearic's, through Italy and into Greece with some heavy showers forming over the mountains of Turkey.
Heavy periods of rain extend through France and into much of Europe, with the risk of thunder at times in Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria and into Poland. Drier weather should reach the far north of France later, although it will be windy on northern coasts.
High pressure brings fair weather in the UK and this extends through Norway. There will be some cloud and drizzle over southern Denmark, but the Baltic States should be fair as will be much of Sweden, away from the far south. A few showers for Finland with sunny spells in-between.
