Windy across northern Europe

Today
It's a cooler, unsettled and windy day across mainland parts of Europe with a day of sunshine and showers across Britain, northern and central parts of France across The Low Countries into Denmark and Germany. An area of heavier rain is forecast across northern Russia across the Baltic States into Poland, Austria, Hungry and Switzerland. Mainly dry across Belarus into the Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, the former Yugoslavia into Greece and Turkey. There is a risk of a few sharp showers across Italy today with some heavy showers near Sardinia and the Balearics, Lots of fine, dry and sunny weather still across Portugal, Spain and the south of France. Colder across Scandinavia but mainly dry across Norway, Sweden and Finland. A strong mistral will be blowing across southern France today.

Saturday
Rain spread in across the United Kingdom. Expect rain across Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany with showers across Poland and Denmark. A cold but dry and sunny day across Norway and Sweden while another area of rain will lie from Finland into Russia, Belarus into Hungry, the western Ukraine into Romania and the former Yugoslavia. An area of heavy showers and thunderstorms is expected across the far south of Italy into southern Greece. Fine and sunny across Turkey and most of Italy. Those showers will extend across Sicily towards the Balearics. Dry and sunny across Portugal, Spain and much of France though showers will affect the east.
