Fair and frosty Scandinavia and central Europe, cloud and some rain in west
Thursday
A few showers over central parts of Spain, but dry with sunny spells for the rest of Portugal and Spain. Some cloud and rain over the west of France, with some heavy showers affecting southern areas of the country.
High pressure will be centred over Finland and this will have a major influence on the weather of eastern and central Europe. There will be plenty of dry weather with some sunny spells here; breezy through Poland and northern Germany. A few showers for Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Heavy showers could affect parts of Italy, especially the south and west. There could be a few showers in Greece too, although much of the country should be dry. Sunny spells and dry weather in Turkey but some cloud and rain for Bulgaria and Romania.
Friday
Cloud and outbreaks of showery rain affecting Portugal on Friday. Most of Spain should be fair with sunny spells throughout. Some showers for the far west of France and the far north, but for most of the country the day should be dry and bright after morning fog clears.
Heavy showers in southern parts of Italy. Cloud and rain through Greece and this affecting the south of Turkey as well. Fine for much of Bulgaria and Romania and feeling cold here as well.
High pressure over Scandinavia brings dry weather here. There will be some fog patches through the day here, but these should clear to give sunny spells. Over the Baltic States conditions should be dry with some sunny spells once fog clears. Generally fair for Norway and Sweden.
