Showers in eastern Mediterranean
Today
Wet, windy weather moves into western parts of Britain into Portugal and north west Spain. Much of mainland Europe looks settled and dry but it gets much colder going eastward. Sunny spells are expected across France but lots of cloud across Germany and this extends east into Poland across the Baltic Region into Russia. Across Russia there is a risk of snow flurries. Cold but sunny across Norway and Finland with more cloud across Sweden. Some sunshine but a lot of cloud as well across the Ukraine into the former Yugoslavia and Hungry. A number of heavy showers are forecast across Greece with a few into southern Italy. More cloudy across Turkey with some light rain in places. Fair and dry across northern Italy into the Balearics and much of Spain.

High pressure across Europe will give a large part of Europe a dry day and again colder in the east. Some light rain to come across England today. Dry from France into Belgium, Holland, Denmark into Germany with varying cloud and sunnier spells. Very cold across Russia with a few snow flurries. Dry across the Baltic States with a cold, sunny day across Finland, Sweden and Norway. A good deal of dry weather as will across the Balkans today while showers will affect Greece and again southern parts of Italy. Sunny and dry across Turkey and northern parts of Italy into Switzerland and Austria. Cloudy and windy across Portugal but dry and sunnier across Spain.
