A very unsettled and windy day across much of Europe with strong gales expected. Heavy, blustery showers are forecast across Britain, Belgium and Holland into northern France while an area of heavy rain falls across Denmark, Germany and southern France with snow over the Alps. Snow is expected across Norway, northern Sweden and Finland into Russia while rain is expected across Belarus and the Ukraine. Fair and dry across the Baltic States, Poland into Hungry, the former Yugoslavia with sunny skies across Romania into Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. Just a few showers for northern Italy today, sunnier and dry in the south. Generally cloudy with some patchy rain to come across Spain and Portugal but dry across the Balearics.

Gales continue across the northern half of Europe today with rain forecast for France, Germany, Austria into Hungry and into the former Yugoslavia. Heavy snow showers are expected for western Norway with heavy snow likely across Finland. Mainly a dry day across much of Sweden. Some heavy showers to come across Belgium into Holland and Denmark. Fair and a dry day across Poland, Belarus, the Baltic States into the Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria. A fine dry day across Greece and Turkey with lots of sunshine. Southern parts of Italy will see some showers but the north looks dry. Dry too but chilly across Spain into Portugal.
