Thunderstorms and Heavy Showers

Today
A hot day across southern parts of Spain and Portugal. A few heavy showers will affect eastern parts of Spain, otherwise mostly sunny and dry day across much of Iberia into the Balearics across into Corsica and Sardinia. A few showers were also affect northern and western parts of France. The rest of France will be sunny and dry. Most of England should be fair and dry as will Belgium, Holland and Denmark. Unsettled across Italy today with thundery outbreaks of rain, some of it quite heavy. A rash and showers also forecast across Austria, the Czech Republic and Croatia. Most of Poland should be fair and dry. Apart from the odd shower. Heavy showers along with spells of heavy or rain with the risk of thunder are forecast across western Russia into Belarus, the Ukraine and down through Romania and Slovenia. A number two heavy showers will develop across mainland Greece, otherwise dry and sunny. Western parts of Turkey and also see a few heavy showers developing during the day. Eastern Turkey. Staying sunny and dry. A dry day to come across the Baltic States. Lots of showers are forecast today for Finland and Sweden while most of Norway and Germany has a dry, mostly sunny day. A mistral will be blowing across southern France today and it will be quite windy around the western coasts of Portugal through the central and eastern parts of the Mediterranean.

It turns more showery across the United Kingdom today. It will also be a day of sunny spells and scattered showers across France with heavier and more numerous showers expected across northern Italy into Austria and through the Czech Republic and across the Adriatic Region. Most of Germany, Belgium and Holland should remain dry with good sunny spells while a few heavy showers may affect Denmark. Lots of fine, sunny weather to come across Sweden and Norway. A few showers expected for parts of Finland. A belt of rain will affect north western Russia into Belarus and into western parts of the Ukraine. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely across eastern Ukraine. One or two sharp showers may also affect parts of Romania and Bulgaria with heavy showers persisting across western half of Turkey. Most of Greece and the eastern half of Turkey should be dry and mostly sunny. Central and southern parts of Italy will have sunny spells but also a risk of a few late, heavy showers. One or two showers may again affect eastern parts of Spain, but for most of Spain and Portugal should be dry and mostly sunny. Continued hot across southern parts of Spain and Portugal.
