Improving across Scandinavia
Today
A hot day across eastern parts of Europe, cooler in the west. A number of heavy showers are likely to develop across United Kingdom and most of France but dry in the far south of France where it will be very windy with a strong mistral blowing. Outbreaks of more persistent and heavy rain are forecast for Belgium, Holland, Germany, Switzerland and Austria with some heavy showers expected across the Czech Republic and the Adriatic region. Very warm to hot and sunny across Portugal and Spain. Sunny as well across the Balearics into Corsica, Sardinia and across into Italy, Greece and Turkey. Plenty of showers are forecast for Norway and Sweden. Lots of dry weather to come and it will be very warm from Finland down across the Baltic States, across Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine and Poland. Across Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary expect a mixture sunny spells and scattered heavy showers. Quite a windy day in the central Mediterranean today.
Wednesday
Mostly sunny and dry across England. While the far south of France will again be dry and sunny, elsewhere expect plenty of heavy showers with the risk of thunder. Persistent and heavy rain is forecast again for Belgium, Holland, Germany and Switzerland with heavy showers across the far north of Italy, into Austria, the Adriatic Region, Hungary, Romania and southern Poland. Northern Poland along with Belarus, the Ukraine, the Baltic States, Finland and most of Russia should remain hot, dry and sunny. A few showers to come across western parts of Norway today otherwise be dry and mostly sunny across most of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Heavy showers develop across parts of Romania, but a dry, sunny and very warm day is expected across Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey along with central and southern parts of Italy. Another very warm to hot day with unbroken sunshine across Portugal and Spain. A brisk easterly wind develops through the Straits of Gibraltar with strong northwest winds again across southern France. It also looks quite windy across the Greek Isles.
