Hot in southern Europe but a few showers to the north
Thursday
A hot day to come across much of Europe today with very high temperatures across southern parts of Iberia. Lots of dry, sunny weather as well will stretch from Portugal across Spain into all of France, Belgium, Holland and most of Germany. Few showers to come across Britain today.
Some heavy showers and scattered thunderstorms will develop across the Alps and across into the Adriatic Region. Plenty of heavy showers are forecast for Norway with sunny spells expected across Sweden. Very warm across Italy with sunny spells and a risk of a few late showers. Most of Greece and Romania should be very warm and sunny with a late afternoon or early evening shower. Very warm and sunny across Turkey and the Ukraine. It will also be a fine, summery day across Belarus, the Baltic States and southern Russia while showers will affect northern Russia with a few across Finland.
Friday
A hot day with thundery showers across Portugal and Spain on Friday. Fine for the Balearics and Portugal with plenty of sunshine here. Some heavy thunderstorms forming in Greece, but fine through Turkey with good spells of sunshine here.
Cloud and some thundery showers in western France, but dry with sunshine to the east. The Low Countries and Germany may have a few showers but should be dry overall. Fair weather to come through Poland and a few showers in Hungary. Austria and Switzerland should be dry and bright with good sunny spells.
Fair in Denmark with sunny spells, and staying that way for the Baltic States. Showers in Sweden, a few of them heavy, but mainly dry with sunny spells in Norway. A few heavy showers to come through Finland.
