Thundery in Greece and Turkey

Wednesday
Warm and sunny for Spain and Portugal, although threat of scattered thunderstorms in southern Portugal. The Balearics are dry overall, perhaps isolated afternoon showers, but thunderstorms are expected to be widespread across the central and eastern Mediterranean. Thundery showers in southern Italy, although drier in the north of Italy. Slow moving thunderstorms widespread across Greece, Cyprus and Turkey. Most of France is dry and mild, although cloudy with risk of patchy rain in the north. Rain affects Belgium, the Netherlands and northern Germany, but drier to the south. Dry for Switzerland and Austria with sunshine. Eastern Europe is dry and fairly cool. Breezy and cool in Scandinavia, as a cold front spreads south-east into the Baltic. Frequent showers in northern and western Norway, turning to snow over the mountains. Sweden becomes dry after rain clears east. A band of rain also affects Finland.

Thursday
Another very warm day for western Europe thanks to a gentle southerly airflow. Dry with warm sunshine for Spain and Portugal. The Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia are also dry and sunny. Fair weather extends across most of central Europe under the influence of high pressure. Feeling warm in France, particularly in the west with extensive sunshine. More cloud toward the north of France. Dry for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, although patches of fog may linger in low lying areas. Fine for Italy, but showers may persist in the south. Continuing very unsettled in Greece and Turkey with heavy thundery rain. Dry for Denmark and the Baltic States. Breezy in the north of Scandinavia, with wintry showers in north-west Norway. Dry and bright in southern Norway and Sweden.
