Thunderstorms in the central Mediterranean


Friday
Hot, dry and sunny in Portugal and much of Spain on Friday, although eastern Spain and the Balearics are likely to see thunderstorms break out. Scattered thunderstorms for Italy, most widespread toward the south and also Sicily. Thundery showers for the Balkan states and mainland Greece, although dry overall for the Greek islands. Fine and warm for Turkey and Cyprus. Plenty of dry, sunny and warm weather for France, but a few heavy showers in the south. Scattered showers for Switzerland and Austria. Dry for Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany with lengthy spells of sunshine. Risk of a light shower in Denmark, but Poland and the Baltic States are dry and mild. Windy for Norway, particularly in the west, with rain spreading onto the west coast later. Breezy and mild for Sweden, although cloudy with a little drizzle possible. Dry overall for Finland.

Dry and hot in the south of Spain and Portugal. More cloud in northern Spain, perhaps a little patchy rain on the Biscay coast. Scattered thunderstorms for eastern Spain and the Balearics. Thunderstorms for Corsica, Sardinia, southern Italy and Sicily. Thundery rain for western Greece, but the Greek islands remain fine. Sunshine for Turkey. A few showers in southern France, but central France is fair and warm, Rain spreads across north-western France, turning heavy. Warm and dry for Germany and the low countries, although rain spreads from the west across Belgium and the Netherlands late in the day. High pressure centred near Finland brings a mild southerly breeze to Scandinavia. Dry for the Baltic states and Finland. Variable cloud for Sweden, whilst western Norway is likely to see heavy rain. Windy for Denmark. Dry overall for eastern Europe, isolated showers for Hungary and Romania.
