Heavy rain north to south through central areas, cool west, warmer east
Wednesday
Very windy in the western Mediterranean today with westerly gales through the Straits of Gibraltar. An area of heavy rain will affect Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, western parts of Germany into central and southern France and across eastern Spain. A few showers to come across England, northern France and Portugal. Cold across Norway with snow.
Cloudy but a dry day across eastern parts of Germany. Rain is forecast across Switzerland with snow on the high elevations. Much of Italy, The Adriatic Region and the Balkans will be dry with sunny spells. Mostly sunny and dry as well across Romania, The Ukraine, Belarus, The Baltic States and western Russia. Heavy showers are expected around the Balearics.
Thursday
Cloud and some drizzle for northwest Portugal and northern Spain. Fair in eastern and southern Spain. Heavy showers in the balearics, and more cloud, rain and some heavy showers in Italy. Greece will be warm and dry with lots of sunshine, and more sunshine to come in Turkey.
France will have a cold morning, but then mostly dry in central areas, although rain arriving in the far west, and wet in the far southeast. Broken cloud and mostly dry in the Low Countries, with some thicker cloud and showers or rain in eastern parts of Germany. Poland, Austria, Hungary and Switzerland are likely to be wet and cloudy.
Cloud and rain in Denmark, some of it heavy. More cloud and some rain in the baltic States. Fair for Sweden, but chilly here. Some cloud and rain in the far south of Sweden. Fair in central and northern areas but chilly. A chilly day in Norway but it will be dry.
