Heavy rain easing in Italy

Cloud and patchy rain for Spain and southern Portugal on Friday, brighter toward the west. The east coast of Spain and Balearics dry overall, but quite cloudy, perhaps patchy drizzle. Low pressure brings unsettled conditions to the central Mediterranean, with heavy rain and gusty winds in southern Italy and Sicily. Wet also for the Adriatic region. Rain arriving in the west of mainland Greece. However, the Greek Islands and Turkey are dry and warm, with best sunshine toward the east of the Mediterranean. Fronts spread across France, bringing breezy conditions, cloud and patchy rain, turning showery toward the west. Dry overall for Germany and Switzerland. Some rain for southern Austria. Breezy and rain at times for Belgium and the Netherlands. Patchy rain for Poland and the Czech Republic, whilst most of eastern Europe is dry and quite mild. Rain affects the Baltic States, turning to snow in southern Finland. Windy and cool for Norway, a little patchy rain in the south. Dry for Sweden.
Heavy rain spreads into north-western Spain and Portugal on Saturday, accompanied by strengthening winds. A few showers in southern Spain, but overall central and eastern Spain, plus the Balearics are drier and brighter. Dry and sunny in Corsica and Sardinia. Fine in northern and western Italy, whilst southern Italy continues to see heavy showers. Periods of heavy rain for the Balkan States and Greece. Some rain for western Turkey, but dry and warm for most of Turkey and also Cyprus. Wind and rain for north-west France, but bright and dry for eastern and southern France. Dry for Switzerland and Germany. Cloudy and a little patchy rain for Poland and the Czech Republic. Some rain too for eastern Austria and Hungary. Dry overall for Sweden, whilst a period of snow may affect Finland. Breezy and showery in Denmark and southern Norway, drier toward the north.
